Dear Tom,

We’ve never met, but after 20+ years of hanging out every Sunday I feel like I know you. So I’ll cut to the chase—I’ve written a children’s book about your career with the New England Patriots. My hope is New England families will share this book with their kids for generations to come, so kids that weren’t fortunate enough to see you play can learn about your career and time with the Patriots in a fun and engaging way.

I’ve put a lot into bringing this book to life and I’m trying to do everything “the right way”—starting with getting your blessing to publish this book. I know you are a celebrity and have every right to protect your image and likeness, so I’ve gone to great lengths to make sure the material in this book is nothing but factual, fun, and complimentary. I’m writing this first and foremost as a fan—this is my way of celebrating your career!

I also would like this book to do some good. I’m going to donate 6% of profits (1% for each championship you won with the Patriots) to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of New England, and I’d like to donate another 6% to a charity of your choosing as well. Combined that’s 12—a number you know a little something about!
